Continental Philosophy & Speculative Fiction Book Club (Discontinued)
This unofficial book club was founded in January 2023 and attracted seven initial members from different humanities programs at Western University. Three books were suggested by the founder at the beginning, and with finishing each book, members brought their suggestions and two books would be chosen by the group to be added to a directory of “to read” books. Despite the occasional use of local coffee/tea places or Western University’s public rooms, the club’s fortnightly sessions were usually inside the central branch of London Public Library. With promotional posters that kindly supported by the library staff, and online promotion on “MeetUp” platform, the club later attracted a few non-student members, before its eventual decline in membership and activity in November and December 2023.
The founder hope he can someday continue this endeavor …
